This has all been a ploy to sell a pistol. The old gun traders in the hills know how to whet an appetite for an item.
1st rule is to play dumb.
Then make everyone decide that you don't deserve to own such a fine handgun because you did not pay enough for it. Not enough financial suffering.
Next tease and flatter the unsuspecting with rare glimpses of the gun and ask for advice or information. Man, this gets the prospective buyer whipped up into a frenzy!
I would suspect that alex has already sold the pistol by private post to one of our gullible number.

Think about it. This was posted in the Military P08 section. Title was "Advice on Luger purchase requested".
And the description was made by someone who knew how to describe a Luger:
