Being involved in Second Amendment issues, I'm used to being on the negative prejudice side of the "free and neutral press". John Lott has documented it thoroughly in his book "
The Bias Against Guns".
The press and polling organizations have quite a bit to answer for, and particularly their behavior during this election cycle.
Instead of blaming a large number of factors (now including supposed racism, low education of the electorate and other "deplorable" accusations) they need to do some self analysis and look into the quality of work that they are actually doing.
It's easy for members of the press to just plain not do their jobs. They buy into unsubstantiated ideas that they like, block out ideas and discussion that challenges their fake positions and generally behave in a lazy and unreliable untrustworthy manner.
A critical analysis of the supposedly neutral talking heads video footage recorded on Monday and on Tuesday morning versus their footage recorded after about 10PM EST Tuesday will show more excuses and speculation than facts.
There are good reasons we no longer trust the "fourth estate"...
