What? My M1 carbine does NOT qualify for the "assault" category under the NY State S.A.F.E. Act. Perhaps this is because mine does not have a bayonet lug--which, of course would make it much more deadly.
There is another member from the Garden State whose grandfather's Luger was confiscated--out of the blue--along with another pistol. It took him a couple of years, but he finally got them back. Apparently their lard-butt Republican governor isn't doing much to help firearm owners.
