It's possible that there was an issue with the registration attempt. Without details an admin can't determine what that issue was.

Possible things would include selecting a user name that was historically associated with someone that had been banned, or registering with a location that is inconsistent with the registration data.

Watch this posting to see if the admin involved follows up personally with you.
