First, condolence to the victims' families.

We can react to this kind of attack with outrage or fear. I, for one, continue to be outraged - particularly that our Western democracies have not established an effective way to counter this evil scum.

I guess disarming the public in France is accompanied with some real risks to society.

Note that the crime was accomplished with a van/truck. It was finally stopped after a 2 kilometer run by a good guy with a gun.

While this kind of attack is more devastating than those that have happened here recently, I doubt that it will get the kind of publicity and demonstration participation we've been experiencing here.

A white truck just doesn't fit into the "evil black gun" meme our journalists need to promote to further infringe on gun rights. And a good guy with a gun doesn't either.
