A byf goes for a bit more than some other lugers, although I see folks quoted to you in 2014. I would say values have not changed that much, although if you add up the bits it probably goes for about what he stated.

And having it since the 60's is not a guarantee of not being reblued, since the war ended in 1945 - so in 15 years, who knows.

I would say, high retail its around what Simpson's had it listed for, also check out Legacy Collectables, he has byf's almost all the time. Anyway, retail is always more, to family I would expect less, unless Uncle is well off. But if hes a working guy, I would think that Sheepherder is about right to family prices.
