Nice rig Marc! The papers look like the "carbon copy" of the original certificate which was probably filed by the soldier's unit.
I'd bet that today's digital generation would look at you like a deer staring at a car's headlights if you asked them if they knew what "carbon paper" was!  They would probably ask if Al Gore invented it...
