It has been years since I fired a bullseye match, but can you use an optic now?
Yeah, red dots are very common as long as they are 1x. I shot irons for a few years and still do with my revolvers, but finally yielded to the fact that the red dot raised my scores.

I've shot a few times with Brian Zins (12-time Bullseye champ at Camp Perry) and was shocked to see him rack the slide of his 1911 by grabbing the red dot and pulling back. That's how solid his setup is (Aimpoint sight with custom machined shrouds fore and aft). The Bushnell won't take that abuse (not that I've tried it) but it's a great value for about $100 and works just fine for me.

VERY NICE-----the pistol AND the shooting...........
Thanks! I know Bullseye is considered an "old guys" shooting sport, but it is a difficult and rewarding competition, considering that nobody has ever shot a perfect 900 match in over 100 years. It has made me a much better shooter.
