I like it too!

There were some in such a config made after WWI for the Navy.
Many used a cut 6" bbl with the front sight relocated, these have a "fat" barrel look; others used a 4" barrel.

I built a clone. Like Tom says, it does shoot high, but then so does my 6" original Navy luger. I'll put in a picture when I find it!

Here is what an original shortened barrel with re-located sight looks like.
