For the younger members who liked the movie "the Monuments Men", there was an earlier 1964 movie called "the Train" with Burt Lancaster which gets at the cost to save art by France during the war. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059825/?ref_=nv_sr_1

And for those that can get MHz Networks, there is a French series called "a French Village" about the occupation and Vichy France. It is very good about the time and subtitled in English. http://www.mhznetworks.org/
