Dick, I have seen them with a block welded to the barrel to screw in a sling swivel. Or one could fashion a clamp on the barrel in the right place..like a scope ring? Either of these methods would NOT be good for a carbine already built..You could loop one end of the sling around the barrel but it would slide around..either to the sight or to the receiver..I can't think of any good way? You ever end up with the Pat N. Carbine? That one had a fore stock/end last time I saw it.
