I can't tell from static pictures, is the cross-section of [any] Luger carbine forearm round, oval, "U" shaped, or does it have a distinct flatness to it, with a rounded bottom???

I don't know anyone with a carbine, and it doesn't look like anybody I know is going to get one anytime soon...
