It looks like in their quest to remove finish they also took out the edges of the grip panels. Looks like a cold-blue job to me. But at $1000 with a WW1 holster, etc, it seems like a good price for a shooter. You could even project it; have the grips re-cut and get the gun reblued.
But it's like the others have said, it depends on what you really want, a looker or a shooter.
