Should be relatively scarce items among "long marchers". According to nationalist archive, it reported "the weapons of those bandits are very poor, but they could always concentrate their MP18s and C96s at a single point of our defense line and break it". Regular long marcher's rifle only got a few rounds of ammo and usually being reloaded. The quality of reloading powder was so dirty, the bore had to be cleaned after firing 3-4 rounds.
But those survivors were definitely strong, both mentally and physically. So, Chairman Mao was right, although the troop reduced 90% numerically, the left 10% was all elite.
