... Born & raised in Texas, but now a Virginian even longer. I was always amazed by the bone dry creek beds and gullies around Midland out in West Texas, because they were so deep and wide. But when you get a gully washer, they would fill up and even over flow onto the roads around them. The land just didn't hold water and it would quickly run off to low areas and into the draws. Typical landscape of the great southwest. ...and a long way from our 'ol homestead in Borgiallo near the church.
