Problem in that is the P38/P1 rear sight is not solidly mounted to the slide; there's no dovetail etc. The sight is held in by the firing pin & indicator cover and has several firing pin thingies [with springs] under it. There's no practical way [in my opinion] to mount a micrometer sight in that slot. Not enough room behind it either, and the firing pin cover takes up the rest of the top of the slide.

It's either a barrel mount or the original sight. Sure, a faux adjustable sight or base could be fabbed to mount where the rear sight is (and still be held in by the firing pin cover) but it wouldn't be securely mounted. It would be 'loose' to some degree.
