The deals are out there, especially from people that want to SELL their guns and not just OFFER them at top dollar. The big thing is to watch for the Chinese copies sold as German, since they liked to duplicate the Mauser name. I passed on an all matching German 7.63 Mauser caliber in good shape but no finish left, for $700 at the SAR show in Arizona two years ago, and have seen others. The Chinese ones are cheaper and come down to $600 or less, depending on shape. I always wonder about the steel used in Chinese copies and they are old pistols. But if you carefully choose your loads, I don't think there would be a problem.
