Although very very few P08s were made in 1908, the 116.R.5.2 is a familiar unit marking associated with infantry regiments. This one appears to indicate the 116th infantry regiment, 5th company, second gun. This might be an imperial unit or a Weimar unit though many Weimar markings have a slash between the unit number and unit type mark.
