There are other markings sometimes seen:

DPa = Deutsche Patentanmeldung (German patent application pending)
DRGM = Deutsches Reichs Gebrauchmuster (German State Patent or proctected invention)
DRBP = Deutsche Reich und Bundespatente (German Reich patent and federal patent - Old patent renewed under the federal government)

The DRGM is a protection for an invention or an improvement that did not rate as novel enough for a full patent.

BTW, beautiful Borchardt. Anyone know what it brought?
