I think guns generally are much cheaper in Sweden because we dont have near the same market as you guys in the US does, most because of the gunlaws here. All weapons in Sweden are either for hunting or targetshooting.
There is no way to get a firearm of any kind for selfdefense for example.
And every firearm, from year 1890 and further on, must be processed and approved by the Swedish Police Department who issues a firearm license for that particular gun. This license, also states the weapons serialnumber, manufacturer/modell, caliber, if itīs meant for hunting or target/sportshooting and so on. The license for hunting you get on "lifetime", while the license for sportshooting you only get for 5 years. Then you have to file a new application for the same weapon...

You can get a collectors license, but then you have to prove that you got special reasons. For example, you are trying to get every single modell that Luger ever made and so on. Only then, and maaaaybe, the Police will issue this kind of license.. But then you cant take your beloved collection to the range and shoot them, no they are only for collecting..

I know that you have some different laws in different states "over there", which makes life happier for us "nerds"
