Doug is correct, only calibers used by Army and Police get altered.
Until not many years ago even .45ACP was banned and the guns rechambered .45HP so the actual chamber reduced to 21mm, the problem is that when you find a beautiful WWI 1911 you might discover that is chambered 45HP (happed to me just last saturday)
I love the LUGER pistol, but C96 represents a bit of history too, couldn't tell which one I prefer.
