The last pin I shortened and dressed could be filed, so I'd say give it a try. A couple dinks with a center punch should do it--three, evenly spaced around the C. More, if it's really sloppy.

OK, I'll keep the mat'l for "art supplies" when it comes. Its specs look pretty good, though.
