Eric, thanks again for your input,

Looking at the WWII photos that you have posted I think I can call myself lucky as my grandfathers took part in the WWI, and my father in the WWII, so I had first hand informations about those years from them.
I still remember that I used to listen carefully to their tales, repeated over and over to me, but now I regret that when I repeat those same things to my daughters they don't seem to pay the same attenton, probably because since I was born in 1954 the echoes of the WWII were still there.
I post two famous photos by Robert Capa related to the landing of the US troops in Sicily 72 years ago.
I'd like to close saying that now we probably tend to forget to thank the many Americans that died after that landing to free mainly the South ad the Center of this Country.
