Big Norm, If memory serves me correctly, Georg Luger, while working for Loewe on the Borchardt, came up with the design for the 'Luger' which was following the absorbtion of Loewe by DWM. There is documentation that it was named the Luger here in the US in the very early 1900's probably by Hans Tauscher, the importer at that time.
