Default 1916 Carbine

Got this Luger at a gunshow several years back. Shot it once (shoots very nicely BTW), and put it away in my safe until just a few days ago. I posted some pics on our private NW gun board just to irritate a (friendly) C&R guy and was told this was a carbine and that it was a nice one. I looked around and didn't find much info about carbines but was referred here for more info so here I am. This type of gun- adulterated original- is not my cup of tea. It's 9mm

As far as I can see, all numbers match. Like I said it shoots well. Finish is good. I took off the front HG and there are no numbers anywhere under there.

If you need more pics to identify or are just curious, let me know I can take decent closeups.
