My stainless 90s Luger karate-chops the left front side of the case. It used to gall up some material on one side of the dent in the case. I marked them for position and deduced that the case was hitting an edge of the upper's left side on the way out. (Let's say that these are not the most precision pistols out there.),and also that it was doing more than bouncing off in order to shave up a furrow of material. Examining the extractor, I noticed its claw was lop-sided--longer on the left side. I filed it to be more symmetric, and left off when it only dented the case, to the extent it can be ironed out by a reloading die. I wish I had a high speed camera to see what is actually happening in some of my pistols!
