Default Barrel progress!

Well, here's where we are at right now.. I have pow-wowed with my CAM CAD lathe guy and we have reached the following mile markers.. We have enough blanks for approx. 2 dozen 6" barrels and another half dozen 4.250" length barrels... all will be 9mm this first go around.. we have fabricated threaded female mounting and indexing fixtures both for turning the profiles after threading the stub, and indexing to mark the timing point to do all the secondary operations on a Bridgeport with a rotary table.. Interesting note: after several tests, using both 55 degrees and 60 degrees, we have found that it seems to make little or no difference as to the thread pitch between these two??, we have settled on 60 just because tooling is readily available... I think Rich or Rich might have mentioned this in another post.. Just goes to show how much knowledge these two have on this, as of yet, un-walked path for me?? ..........I respect their insight and info. and look forward to more... Well, that's it for now.. will chime back in as events occur... Hope fully I'll end up with something more than a few hundred bucks worth of 4140 scrap metal! Best to all, til...lat'r....GT
