A forestock attached to a barrel will flat not function. First of all there has to be about 3/8 inch free space between the rear of the stock and the receiver or the receiver will not move during recoil and the action will not cycle. Secondly, even with the free space the weight of the forestock inhibits cycling so every round jams, and you can't hold the forestock while shooting as that further exacerbates the problem.
