At the end of each season, he would have us over to his house for Pizza. He retained much more memorabilia from his Korean War and onward flying career than I ever saw of his WW2 days. We were of course aware that he was with a famous squadron and were aware of Pappy Boyington long before the TV show made him generally known. This was in the little town of Franklin Lakes, New Jersey. I had no idea that he had moved to New Orleans nor that he had fairly recently passed away.
