First of all welcome to this forum.

I agree with what David wrote, I've never used any steel wool of any kind on my guns, especially on my collectibles; I've always preferred to use Ballistol and a rough, harsh in texture cloth for a few times.
Sometimes it just takes a bit of patience and a lot of love for these beautiful guns.
