There are variations in "fit" between Luger manufacturers (DWM, Erfurt, Simson, Krieghoff, Mauser, etc., and even from the same manufacturer over time)... this is caused by manufacturing techniques that permit tolerances to build up and change angles and curves ever so slightly... they would not be perceptible to the human hand, but to a hard plastic or wood grip, it will make a difference, and is the reason that grips (and other parts) require fitting.
