Storage condition.
Hi,
As some of you know, I am quite new to Lugers. I was looking at the Luger Manual that may be downloaded from Mitchell's Mausers and it states:
"Do not dry fire, but do store your pistol in the fired position" (I imagine so springs are not compressed?).
The cleaning procedure ends with racking back the toggles and "letting them slam forward." ... would this not leave the weapon "cocked" not "fired position"?
How would one leave it in fired position? I suppose you could use a snap cap, but would have to leave it in place (which would leave the loaded chamber indicator up, which I am a little uncomfortable with on a loaded gun)?
Thoughts, corrections, guidance? Thanks!
Chris
