A 1920 P08 is a military or police pistol made in 1920 and so marked on the receiver. It has distinctive eagle/ArA4 acceptance marks, and has a no-suffix, a, or b serial number suffx.

"1920 commercial" is an obsolescent term for commercial Lugers made between 1921 and 1929, with a four-digit-with-suffix serial number (beginning with the i suffix) and vertical c/N receiver proofs. Alhough the vast majority of them are P08s with stock lugs, there are noteworthy examples of New Model Parabellum-style pistols within this range, as shown here.
