and a WW1 barrel would have what's called 'witness' marks, and serial number and the land to land diameter markings

Its like a luger magazine, 10 years ago, I would ot spot one at a gun show, now, I can see one from 20 feet away - things that are 'out of place' jump out at us

and the comment about the 2K - if in your area you can ask that and get it, then go for it - everything just takes time and the right person
