I couldn't agree more!

Here are some general statements regarding OALs.

Round nose bullets 1.173 inches

Truncated cone bullets 1.14 inches

The Luger will shoot HP Bullets just fine, if they are of the right design. Avoid short, broad-mouthed HPs and you should do fine (I haven't had any luck with the Sierra HPs).

For determining the proper OAL for the specific brand and type of bullet you will be shooting, please search my thread on "How to Determine Proper Cartridge OAL when Handloading".
