$50 sounds like a great deal. I'd allow for up to a couple hundred for the welding--and
that would be a deal because of how I'd do it (see below), and if the micro-welding were much more expensive.

It broke when I was firing some WWII German ammo back in the 60's and sat on a shelf till recently. I since found out that the WWII ammo was " fur maschinepistol ".

Ouch! The repair on the breech block could have used filler metal from a donor block that was beyond repair. It's not necessarily fast or cheap to forge your own filler rod, but I think worth it in a case like this. Did he re-blue after the repair was complete?
