I have gotten a 'dead' Luger takedown lever spring from Numrich; looked excellent, but must have been 1010 steel. Lost tension immediately. I also got a C96 Mauser sear spring, Numrich again; same problem - Looked good but only worked once. Soft as butter.
IIRC, it was Tom Heller who fixed me up with a genuine Luger takedown lever spring, and Alvin was able to get me a C96 sear spring.
