Mauser had little problems with bombings during the war. They were only attacked twice and damage was relatively minor and quickly repaired. The second bombing run did knock out the power plant, but the physical production locations were never severely damaged.
Mauser had an interesting protection scheme: The factories lay in a valley, surrounded by high hills. Across these hill steel cables with vertical steel lines, held in place by iron balls, formed a protective curtain that proved to be very effective. Remnants of this 'Fliegersperre' can still be found on the hills outside of Oberndorf am Neckar.
