So, with shooter grade Lugers topping out at $1000 or $1100, at 80% you could be at the lower end of a collectable if all matching and not import marked / not DDR - Russian Capture marked, etc...

I think David may have been generous, but would also need to see pictures.

Typical valuation drops 40% when you go from matching to non-matching. That is what breaking a numbered part could cost. We regularly see reports of Lugers and other military firearms broken in shooting. In another post today, one member mentioned seeing about 12 himself over recent years. It really does happen.

Traveling armies carried armorers with them for a reason.
