In your first post, you mentioned that your 1936, S/42 was built in the k-block.

The year 1936 was a transition year for magazines and therefore during the late l-block into the m-block, Mauser started delivering blued body magazines. As with all transitions, there are no clear cut changeovers as existing parts are used up over time. But, it is safe to say that a k-block P.08 would have left the factory with a nickel plated magazine.
