A Luger Pistol does not have a hammer, it is fired by the a spring that propels the firing pin upon release by the sear bar. The trigger bar rotates releasing the sear/firing pin engagement after the trigger is pressed that in turn rotates the trigger lever that press on the opposite end of the sear bar causing it to rotate. Stiker fired as opposed to hammer fired. Actually the firing pin on a Luger has quite a bit of mass itself! Look at an exploded view some time of the parts. Thor
