Aha. I recall now..I had a similar problem, it wasn't that the magazine spring was weak (well, it was that, too...), but the spring had shifted a little bit, was not allowing the catch to operate properly--it bound up a little bit. I shifted it back solidly into the slot in the catch button, and it worked fine.
