The 9th army Corps (Imperial) Germany had nine Machine Gun Companies with a total of 54 machine guns at the outbreak in 1914. I guess they were detached out to it's Inf Regts and Artillery Regt but stayed under Corps control.

None are listed in Jeff Nolls book pages of Lugers with those unit markings but does hit a bit on page 163 about Corps machine gun companies with Corps markings. But also, Jeff states there were only three machine gun companies in IX Corps so there is a bit of difference there.
