I use the Renaissance wax for lots of gun purposes but I am concerned about it taking off the patina - apparently you aren't having the problem. I use it in the barrel and internal parts of Lugers but not the exterior bluing.
I have been cautious because I hadn't heard the old timers say how it reacts to Lugers
