All the "kids" with their tweets think they invented abbreviations, like "lol" etc. Hell that was done already 70 and 80 years ago working the 40 meter band with a key or a bug. As in...

IS Ham radio, before VOX. Used to be that a novice could only use code on the 40 meter band until he/she passed their advance test. Then they could drop the "N" from their call sign; i.e., KN9SVD became K9SVD.
