I was also wondering about this price. It's in a local store -- here in this state, only licensed C&R collectors can "import" C&R pistols into the state from other states. LTC permit holder can only buy whatever approved by Attorney General (C&R pistols was probably considered being unsafe, so none of them was approved by AG). So, C&R license is not optional in this state. Pistols "imported" via C&R license can only be transferred among C&R licensees in this state.
There is an exception, if the pistol is not on the AG approved list, but it has been in the state since .... God knows, certain date (probably decades ago?), it can be transferred within the state.
I bet that Interarm Mauser was a "grandfather" pistol in this state, which can be legally transferred within the state without a C&R license (many people do not even know there is such a licence), so it demands some premium in this state.
