Just a few picts to show some ideas on a Luger optics mount. I am trying to utilize the flat on the left side of the frame to which the steel section of the mount is to be bonded. The basic idea here is to keep the sight off the moving barrel/toggle areas and to take advantage of a left master eye.
Many ideas have gone by the wayside here in concept of design, but had to start somewhere. Over the years in another type of design business, I found that designs are often iterations.
The aluminum section with the modded Weaver mount is removeable from the pistol as an attempt to improve later the aluminum mount section. The mount is offset to the left and forward some for consideration of charging the pistol and keeping the red dot out of the blast some.
The aluminum mount is attached to the steel support block via two 10x32 screws and two alignment pins. I have thought some about machining alignment v-slots for repetition concepts, but first things first. First attempt in prototyping is surely simplistic but hopefully used as a testbed for improvements.
Hopefully at 25yds it will work ok if it stays on the pistol with the super adhesives, if not, perhaps a reinforcing shim under the flat and drill/tap like the old days.
Please pardon the junk on the table top.
