Does this mean that we all have to be concerned about any collectable firearm that's ever transited US borders? I rather doubt it. The return of this one was specifically requested by the Polish government. It was looted by the Germans after Poland fell early in WWII. The fact that it might have been seen as legitmate war booty by some GI and later his family means little. The same process is used to recover artwork and other looted assets.
Mr. Gasior's only error might have been to offer this rifle for sale. It's existance then became known.
