Default Fellow Bookworms, Enlighten Me!

I agree with all my fellow bookworms! I make an earnest effort to acquire just about every book on Lugers I can find; who knows what nugget of information might be there?

In that spirit the most recent book I got is the one on Dutch Lugers; I have never seen one (the Dutch Luger that is) except in pictures.

Say; can anyone help me: Datig's identification system;

for example on page 153 (2nd ed.) "... the Model 1924 or the 1900/06. the 06/29 has ..." Page 249 "the Model 1904/20." and pages 200 to 207.

I can understand the base year (before the slash) but the second year does not always make sense becuase of changes in the intervening period.

Boy would I ever feel smart if I could say, "Well the toggle is like a 1900/08-34/44 but ..." you get the idea.
