It is called 'subscribing' to the thread and yes to the entire thread.

I have never had the desire or inclination to subscribe to a specific posting?

As an aside, So often folks read the last couple of postings; I find it a bit irritating that me or someone else already supplied the needed info and someone 3 pages later offers a off-base theory

and its obvious that they never read the entire thread.
